All
Nine month ago I bought the Pathfinder RPG - a system very similar to D&D 3.x. Unable to convince my home group to switch I was invited to two slot zero games (preparation games for GMs for Conventions) in London and got hooked.
I even went to Dragonmeet in London to organize some sessions and GM. Looking for players closer to home (I'm living in Deal) I now stumbled upon the AGS.
Looking at what's on offer and when you game - also what people seem interested in - it seems to me an introduction on a Saturday looks like a good way to start.
In addition to make it a treat for the players as well as others just watching I would aim to build up the whole scenario using a 3-dimensional dungeon building set called Dwarvenforge. Instead of having a floor plan you can generate a 3d dungeon in all it's glory.
I would need at least 4 players (up to 6 max) interested in a new RPG system. Players with previous D&D experience should be able to start straight away with a PreGen.
Off course if you are interested to build up your own character - even better. I could give some help in case you lack the rule books.
Please let me know if there would be some interested people and I would look for a suitable Saturday.

That sounds really good! I'd be interested in joining in if you do a one-off one Saturday (except the 20th). I've not played D&D before, but can probably grasp the rules quite quickly. _________________ The face is cute...the mind is evil ^-^ |

I could try this Saturday - let me know if this works and I can post a message on the games on for this week. Othervice the 27th might be next option that works for you.
Let me know your preference. I hope as long as I have a single player interested I will get more to join on the day.

I have some experience with DnD 4th Edition but from what I've seen it's all the same old D20 system so I should be able to pick it up more or less straight away. I've wanted to get away from playing DnD core anyway so Pathfinder sounds like a good option, let me know when you're gonna run the saturday game, this week or 27th works for me :p
I'm also interessted in seeing this Dwarveforge thing in action, I've heard about it a lot today funnily enough >.< |

I just posted the game for this week. If we don't get enough players together this Saturday we can always move to the 27th.

Thanks to all the players who came along and played. Especially Ryan who moved over with his StarWars players. I hope you enjoyed the game. I did check my calendar and at home - and I decided to be back on the 27th for a second game.
This will give a chance for others to join as well (with a little bit of more time to plan) as well as carry on with the experience/ money earned. Each of you got 1XP (two more XP/sessions for second level) and 1AP with Kalamos/Rodge 2AP (Prestige points). Each player also earned 433 Gold (out of 501 possible).
How best to create your own character?
You should find quite a few bits of free stuff on the paizo webpages - www.paizo.com. For example - in the Guide to Organized Play (pdf - free) you will find more background to factions, some traits as well as some character sheets.
Skills are generated on a point-buy basis - 20 points available
7 = -4
8 = -2
9 = -1
10 = 0
11 = 1
12 = 1
13 = 3
14 = 5
17 = 7
16 = 10
17 = 13
18 = 20
For example = a 17,16,12,11,10,10 would make up 20 etc.
You have all the races and classes from the D&D3.5 and the main difference is that you get a +2 bonus on one additional skill. So if you use 3,5 to generate a character, then it will take approx. 5 minutes to adjust him/her. More or less all skills from the D&D player handbook as well as equipment is available with no or only very minor alterations. Just don't use any exotic stuff from splat books - chances this isn't available.
Core Rulebook
I felt it might be useful if you have one copy in your library. Being new I don't want you to tell what to spend money on - but I'm happy to donate one copy to the library. I just would need an address of one of the players whom to send it to. That person then can use it first - as long as it ends up in the library afterwards.
If you want your own rulebook - there is a relative cheap $9.99 option for an official pdf version.
I'm looking forward to see you all again on the 27th. If you have any questions - mail me a 'paizo add loesel dot freeserve dot co dot uk'. That is my pathfinder e-mail that gets read pretty regularily. Sorry for not writing out the address - I just hate spam ...

| I am definately interested in continuing with Meridin the (admitedly quite clumsy) wiley rogue. I did some searching and found that amazon.co.uk is selling the pathfinder core rulebook for £21.00 so I'll probably buy it over easter. |

I'm looking forward to meet Meridin again. If you keep the character as is, then you are still entitled to two traits to chose for him. Traits are not added to the PreGens. Othervice just remove stuff you used and use the money to get replacements / new stuff.
Traits are new to pathfinder compared to D&D3.5. They are a little bit weaker as feats - they mainly are to give a character a little bonus but mainly tie in to some background / flavour and are chosen at the beginning.
There is somewhere a free pdf on the Paizo-boards with traits. I will ensure I have a copy with me next time.

Just a heads up that I plan to be back this Saturday - 27th. If you already played last time, please feel free to play on with the same character. You have some money to spend on stuff like potions, scrolls etc.
Next game is
Pathfinder Society Scenario #5: Mists of Mwangi
Pathfinder Lugizar Trantos recently returned from the Mwangi Expanse with haunted eyes and a pack full of strange idols. Absalom's famed Blakros Museum purchased his pieces and Lugizar vanished. The strange monkey idols he pulled from the misty jungles of Mwangi carry with them a fell curse, and now their power has laid claim to the museum. Can the Pathfinder Society uncover the source of the curse in time, or will the Blackros Museum be forever lost to the mists of Mwangi?
I played this as a player at Dragonmeet and liked it a lot. It seems one of the all time favourites of PFS modules so far.
I hope to see enough players.

if you're still running this I will definatly be up for it. You have also inspired me to buy pathfinder and run a campaign of it for next year I'm also toying with the idea of using the setting under 4th edition rules for my home group. |

I will be around !! I might have a friend from my home campaign with me who also just bought the rules.
Okay - now I need to prepare ... Well - I already played the scenario and read it earlier this week. But I need to gather the right bits to be able to build it up.
I aim for a darker version of DwarvenForge this time - the Den of Evil.
