IMPORTANT! GEEKFEST HAS BEEN MOVED TO 16th MARCH! Due to the Union being *********... I mean, due to unforceen circumstances

"Geekfest is coming around once again!

This event which brings three of the geekiest societies on campus together is not one to be missed: SFX, Anime and AGS getting together for a good time and a nice social mixer. So come along, we wont even insist on you being a member!

This year we're adding a bit of a different spin to it and we're introducing some fundraising for charity: namely the Kent Miles of Smiles charity (website below)
http://miles-of-smiles.org.uk/modules/mastop_publish/?tac=1

We will be accepting donations but that's not all! There shall also be a raffle with prizes contributed by all three societies and, best of all, all proceeds from the raffle will be going to charity! So you get your hands on some cool swag and get to feel good about doing it, what's not to love?

There will also be a costume competition on the night, so make sure to start thinking about what you're going to wear.

In a top-secret lab at some undisclosed location work is currently underway to construct a Piņata, so make sure you come so you get a chance to smack something awesome with a stick!

Each society is racking their brains for a set of questions ranging from 'mild' to 'fiendish' because on the night we shall be having a quiz! So make sure you bring your trivia hats.

The music shall hopefully be a bit of a treat for all you lovely society people, each committee is providing a list of music they want to request for the night. Everything from classic rock to the latest anime theme song, modern metal to video game themes, the cheesiest songs imaginable to stuff that will make you dance (although that last one isn't mutually exclusive). So make sure to bring your dancing shoes/sandals/crocodile skin boots.

More details to come as they are confirmed..."

Burn My Dread - Reincarnation: Persona 3, contains remixed tracks from Persona 3.

The 'Jet Set Radio Future' soundtrack, plenty of funky stuff in there.

If we're using soundtracks as well, I must insist on the Fallout 3 one.

OC Remix has lots of great music like 'Fire Cross' and 'Naito Obu [br00tl]' as well as whole albums which have remixes of pretty much every song in specfic games worked on by multiple musicians.

Jen has already updated the first post. For those who missed it however Geekfest has been forced back a week by the manager of the Venue double-booking the lighthouse. The union has actually been of great help in this and has aided us in making the event even better in response to our criticism of the method in which this rescheduling was handled.
